Hidden History of these Socks
These socks are actually based on a game called: Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure. It was a puzzle video game made by 5th Cell. The game was the fifth game in the Scribblenauts series of games and the first based on a licensed property.
Limited Edition?!
These were unofficially limited edition. These were made by Bioworld. I originally purchased a box of these through a special order--the socks were only available to vendors willing to buy a full case in advance. At the time, Bioworld wasn't normally producing less than 1000 pairs of socks per style. We acquired a sealed case of 100 pairs of these Flash socks. In the last 3 years, I've never seen anyone else selling them so I don't know if anyone else actually has them. So how many were made? There were definitely 100 in the box. How many boxes were actually created though, I assume ten but possibly less.
